I have switched to a different link/link exchange system. I, Robert Lefebvre, the webmaster of MissionaryNet have taken a deep interest in the way that traffic and visitors travel the Internet. Search engines (such as Google) have grown tremendously in use. For those that don't know, search engines work by indexing (collecting) the information on a page automatically and by using mathematical algorithms (formulas). They match the web page to the words the seeker entered in their search form.

Users of search engines, however, often receive results numbering in the millions of sites (which of course is impossible to humanly view) and the vast majority click on a link on the first page of the search results. In fact, hardly any go past the third page of a search result. What this means is it creates a situation where it is very difficult and impossible actually for a new or small website to get placement in a search engine where it can be seen. There are exceptions to that, but for the most part, new websites have a long struggle to get people to their site.

So about a year ago I set out to build a better way and what I came up with was another website I named "BungeeBones.com" that has been tested and is listing websites in a directory style system. IT IS SECULAR! I do not want to use this forum to use the Lord's name or work for any of my own vanity. Rather, I wish to make the gleanings from the system available to the Lord's children. To add your website link to it is free in any category of less than twenty links. The idea of the twenty link limit is to keep the links visible and to not let them get buried under millions of other websites. There are many categories, however, and there is virtually no limit as to how many can be created and listed in for free. For the Lord's work the link will always be free. For questionable sites (whether they are ministry or not) I reserve the right to charge a fee. But, if you study the BungeeBones system, you will see that webmasters can always move their link to another free category at any time and/or we sometimes move them ourselves.

Use BungeeBones As A Fund Raiser

I have not made a dime yet with it so please don't get all excited about this "great financial opportunity". At present, it is not that but I have put a lot of work into it and I do hope it brings financial rewards apart from the satisfaction it gave me to create it.

The system works this way. The directory you submit your own link into, on BungeeBones.com, is also available to install on other websites. I call it a "widget". When you add your link it will be reviewed and, once activated, will show on every current and future widget site as well. With one link submission form it will appear on many websites.

Once you add a link you can get the code for your own widget from your control panel. It installs with just a few lines of code on any website hosted on a server offering the very common scripting language PHP. You need only basic web site building skills such as how to add a new page to your website. You install it on your website, inside your own page template, so it has all the same navigation and pictures your site has. But it is able to pull all its contents such as the categories and links from the BungeeBones server so you have zero maintenance.

Because it is SECULAR some may not want it on their site and I understand that. But there are other sites such as schools and orphanages that are somewhat less sensitive that way and may be able to benefit from gleaning the financial potential. There are also your friends and acquaintances that have businesses and websites that are always looking for new advertising methods. There are people from many different walks that visit those sites who own  websites and have the same needs for traffic as we discussed. When the commercial websites start to compete for the limited space in the filled categories fees begin to apply. Those websites that have a widget directory installed, even in the secular offering, would normally receive a 50% commission for any paid link sales the widget originates and for as long as that new paying site remains a paying site. So the directory is designed to both bring you traffic and earn you some financial benefits.

For the schools and orphanages I want to make that a better provision, however. If you have a school or an orphanage, and a website then either email me or use the contact form on this site and send me the details to your website. I will then forward you the rest of the details.

There are few Christian sites in there yet. I have been testing it with the general public and this is the first offering made to the Christian community. The category names are gathered from other directories and need some serious editing, which I hope to do shortly. I recommending finding the most relevant category and the one closest to the "top" level as you can. Don't worry about moving it too much if it happens to fill up later. That is a simple process and it is better, at first, to make your link convenient for users rather to get the best description.
